Board of Directors

Pam Joyce, Artistic Director/Member of the Board, has successfully directed and managed theatre in Atlanta and Minneapolis. She specialized in short, highly visual productions, which have enthusiastic audience response. She has a BFA from the University of Evansville and an MFA in Theatre Directing from the University of Minnesota. She has also trained with world-renowned artists Anne Bogart and Ruth Zapora . She resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Betty Nguyen Davis is a resident of the West End Neighborhood, where Fly-By Theatre performs. Betty enjoys the unique and creative style of Fly-By, along with its focus on introducing the arts to inner city children, and looks forward to seeing Fly-By grow to influence and impress more Atlantans. Betty is currently a member of Davis & Millard LLC, a law firm that focuses on bankruptcy and family law.

Jill Jacques, Fly-By Board Member and Region Director with Ameriprise Financial, has hands-on experience with theatre operations and management along with her general management skills. She has a passion for the creative and a desire to culminate a successful, fun, and supportive work environment. She earned a BS in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University and an MBA from Wake Forest University.

Amy Rubin is a native Atlantan who graduated from the University of Florida in 1981 with a B.A. in Political Science/International Relations. She then attended Emory University where she received an M.B.A in finance in 1983. Upon completion of her graduate studies, Ms. Rubin began her career as a corporate/strategic planner with a national retailer. In 1985, she became associated with a private wealth planning firm in Atlanta as an investment analyst and financial planner. Since 1986, Ms. Rubin has been a licensed financial consultant and is currently associated with the investment banking firm of SMH Capital, Inc. in Houston, Texas. Ms. Rubin specializes in the areas of investment, tax, education and retirement planning for individuals and small business owners. She is licensed to consult in many areas and continues to pursue continuing education in the fields of insurance, pension, estate and retirement planning.

Aimée Schmidt works at the Rialto Center for the Arts as an Events Coordinator. Schmidt, who received her master’s degree in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi, worked as independent folklorist and production coordinator for many years, and has extensive experience both in state arts agencies and in non-profit arts organizations. Her theatre career culminated with her portrayal of the Spirit of Christmas Present in her high school’s performance of A Christmas Carol. A native of Mississippi, Schmidt now resides in Decatur, Georgia.

Peter Joyce has 20 years of business management experience and enjoys applying his years of experience in the artistic environment. He received his BBA in Accounting in 1990 from Georgia State University and has recently completed his MBA from Georgia State University in 2008. Currently, Peter is a Director with Infor, an enterprise software provider based in Georgia.

Robert W. Stills, Jr. was born and raised in Orange, New Jersey, and currently resides in Marietta, GA. He graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine & Environmental Science. He also received a Jurist Doctorate Degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. Robert is an Attorney for the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, working in the Bright From The Start Department.
